What is factory overruns ?

何謂原單？

1) 品牌向工廠下單一萬件, 工廠為避免有瑕疵的產品出現, 會多做一定的數量以供替換, 假如多製作的三千件並未派上用場, 這三千件商品就是所謂的原單.
2) 另一種原單就不會另外註明, 就是其他間工廠照著原單商品在進行製作, 就是所謂的再原單商品.

市場上近來原單商品盛行, 只要打著品牌原單兩字, 似乎是另一管道讓品牌追隨者能夠以低價得到一樣的待遇, 好不讓人趨之若鶩.

有些原單商品還會很用心的多出新色提供顧客更多的選擇, 實說用心, 另一方面則是露出馬腳, 但買家會顧慮這麼多嗎？ 可見並未如此, 因為這些商家樂此不疲, 不僅提供不同顏色, 更提供不同皮革的訂製以擴大客群, 穩固了原單市場的存在.

話說, 有這麼多原單嗎？
撇除提供不同顏色皮革的訂製外, 其他中規中矩的原單商品貨源難道真的是從品牌工廠流出嗎？

事實是…不可能
曾在工廠工作過的朋友提及, (不是相關品牌工廠), 工廠的作業流程相當嚴謹, 文件都需經過一層一層的簽單後上呈, 絕對不可能有所謂的商品外流.
一般工廠都如此警慎, 更何況大品牌所簽約的工廠？

話雖如此, 商品還是要看人穿戴.
集名牌於一身的人看起來卻像路邊攤的, 商品, 總是看人穿戴的.

What is factory overruns ?

1) Usually when a fashion brand places an order with a manufacturer. To be able to replace defective products that were made in the manufacturing process, manufacturer will usually produce excessive orders for replacement. These are called factory overruns.

2) Another way to have factory overruns is that other manufacturers will try to replicate the original factory overruns. This will produce almost exactly the same product, but manufacturers will not say anything about it.

factory overrun products are sold on auctions in bulk, it's an alternative for middle class people to access the expensive fashion world with low price cost.
To offer the customers variety of choices, some manufacturers will even produce overrun products with different colorations. On one hand, it is to provide customers more choices. On the other hand, this is a mean to avoid law suits. Although these overrun products are slightly different than the original orders, middle class customers usually won't care as much. Because market demand is growing, manufacturers seemed to be making even more varieties including different material such as leathers. This basically solidifies the market of factory overrun products.

Apart from the special ordering from the fashion brand, do we really have that many factory overrun stocks coming out of factories?

Realistically speaking, this is impossible.
My friends were working in a factory (not the luxury brand), the whole manufacturing process was quite strict than you would imagine, all of the documents requires signatures from each different department. There is almost no opportunity in which the overrun products will be released. A small factory has these operational enforcements, then other luxury brands will probably have even more strict operational rules.

Everyone has their own style even if they are using the same item, some will look elegant but some will not. It's all up to the person who wears the item.
